Upcoming Class News
During my trip to Virginia, I was able to find the papers I wanted
to make the Vintage/Travel/Journey 6x6 book. I do not know
at this time when the class will be held, due to the varied
schedules of everyone right now. Penny will be out of town
the first part of June. Some of you are getting ready to close
out the school year and I know the first of June will be busy for you.
Some of you have quizzed me on the nature of the album, I
will be using the Heidi Swapp "World Traveler" series papers,
in co-ordination with other patterned papers. You can make, it
your own, either, travel theme, or a life journey experience.
Also, due to the illness of my husband, I have not been able to work
on putting the sample together, so I will keep you posted on this
upcoming class. Thank you for your patience, I miss you all!
Front Cover of Madison's Birthday Album
This album is 5-1/2x11-1/2. It is a flip album, has many different
size pages and chipboard tags, clear acrylic tag flipper, scalloped edge
pages, lace border edges. This was so much fun to create, of course
another "Tina" original. Tina and I had so much fun doing this album,
although it took us every spare minute of my visit to complete it.

Back from Virginia
My trip to Virginia to visit my daughter and family was so wonderful. The trip up was
so special, Kim and I got to know a lot about each other, we found out that we have
so many similarities about our lives, children, and life's experiences. I count it a blessing
to now have her friendship in my life. Upon arrival, Tina drove me around to see some
of the recent damaged areas the was recently stricken by the Tornado that touched
down in her home town. Unreal some of the sites, one in particular was a tree branch no larger
than the size of a pencil was embedded in the side of a brick building with not even a
broken twig, not to mention the roofs off buildings and store fronts that were gone. Living in
Florida with all the hurricane damages I have been through over the years, at least you have
time to prepare and gather your things board up and evacuate, you have no warning to get
out of the path of a Tornado. On Thursday after my arrival, we visited the Scrapbook Store
in Richmond that I dearly love, "Memories Galore", where they have so many wonderful new
and latest scrapbooking items, it was so hard to choose and narrow down to just a few, of course
I went wildly crazy. Friday was spent preparing for the birthday party for Madison. Saturday of
course was the party, it was so much fun, the kids were great together it was an outside event
and the weather was just perfect, breezy a little but mostly sunshine. I have some wonderful
pictures to share. The Saturday night birthday party sleepover was a blast, the seven years old
out lasted us all, they were up till 1:30 a.m. they started out with pizza dinner, then the fun began,
they sang and danced with their "Hannah Montana" wigs and play guitars and we took videos of this
you would think this would tire them out, but no- next we did a craft project that Tina prepared for
them, thought this would do the trick and soon would go to sleep, but no, so we put on movies that
Madison got for her birthday-popped popcorn, did this do the trick no, so we finally just turned the lights out
and soon they were fast asleep. We were exhausted, next morning the party resumed with breakfast
playing dress-up and more outside fun finally everyone went home by 2:30 in the afternoon. But what a blast
I had didn't know it could be so much fun to be young again. Monday was our day to have fun, Tina and her
friends, Wati, Kylie (Wati's daughter), Sylvia, Janice and myself met at Panera Bread for Coffee, and then left
headed up to Fredricksburg, to shop at (2) Scrapbook Stores and AC Moore, we had a blast. We headed back
to Richmond around 4:30 where we went back to "Memories Galore" for a special event from Quickutz, a
representative from Quickutz was there giving a presentation on the Silhouette Machine and give- a- ways.
The grand prize was $200 in Quickutz products, and Sylvia from our group won the grand prize so then she
proceeded to shop and spend her prize money she ended buying the Silhouette and other quickutz accessories
so we closed down this store, by the time we got back to Colonial Heights where we started from, we were
hungry so Janice, Tina and I closed down Applebees. It was almost midnight when we finally got back home, but
what a fun day was had by all. Tuesday was just a stay home, catch our second wind, day. Wednesday Tina
and I finally started our little scrapbook project around 4:00 in the afternoon. We scrapbooked some Thursday,
picked the kids up early from school and then went to the Strawberry Farm, Tina's friend Wati met us there
with her two children, we took some awsome pictures at the Strawberry Patch, left there went back to
Memories Galore to exchange a duplicate purchase and pick up something being transferred from the other store
and ordered food out, went home and ate and back to scrapbooking our project, Friday morning we finished up
our mini album birthday book project and Tina made Lasagna dinner for everyone, and we were trying to cram all
of our last minute plans into Friday, Wati and her children came by to say their goodbye's and we got to bed late
again. I got up early Saturday and packed up and the tears started to roll as soon the wonderful visit would have
to soon end. Arrived at the airport kind of late, due to construction in the area it was difficult to see the parking area
so we drove around a second time, and of course I had extra baggage at the baggage check so Tina had to take some
items out and she will have to mail them back to me. Almost missed my plane, due to a flight change made it on board
with 3 minuets to spare. Upon arriving in Orlando to retrieve my luggage, I found it went to Atlanta so they had to make arrangements to have my luggage sent to my home on Sunday.
I came home to a very sick husband, Sunday morning I spent all day in the emergency room and at 4:00 Mother's Day
my husband was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. He is doing some better, but it is a large size spot on his
lung and it will take lots of rest and meds I want to especially thank Penny for picking me up from the airport, I don't
know what I would have done with out her putting aside her time with family on the weekend to drive over to Orlando on such short notice to pick me up, you will never know how much your friendship means to me.
My husband was planning to be there, but I really didn't know how sick he was until I cam home, he could not have
driven over in his conditions.

Tag Album-Family Time
Thought I would share with you my latest tag album, however, no plans
for a class for this unless there is an interest in this project.
Upcoming trip
Kim and I are leaving on our trip to Virginia Wednesday April 30th. Kim's
son lives in Fredricksburg, Virginia and she is visiting her son on his birthday
as well. I was so happy when she welcomed me to make this trip with her
which allowed me to spend time with my daughter and her family.
My youndest granddaughter Madison's birthday was the 23rd of April, she turned seven
however, she is waiting to have her party when I arrive. She will be having her first
sleep-over birthday party and she is so excited that I will be there to be involved in the
celebration. The theme of her party is Hannah Montana. The girls will have blow up Hannah
Montana guitars and of course the wigs and tons of Hannah Montana music.
I can't wait to take these pictures, it will be so much fun to do a mini birthday scrapbook
of this event. On another note, Tina said the spring flowers are beginning to pop out in
full bloom, I plan to get some pictures of the dogwoods, azaleas, and all the greenery.
I just love the spring season in Virginia. We are also planning a couple of day trips to scrapbook
stores in the surrounding areas with a couple of Tina's friends, Sylvia and Janice, who also are
participants in my class projects. Also, we convinced my husband to allow me to stay a few
extra days so I will be flying back on Saturday the 10th of May, thus making the an extra special
time to celebrate Mother's Day a little early. I already have a project in mind for when I return
for the next class, in the event I can find the papers while I am out shopping. "Vintage Travel
6x6 book and a (2) page Heritage Layout. The class information will be announced in the upcoming

Why I Love to Scrapbook
I recently read this on someone's blog I visited and I think
this truly describes how I feel about my love of scrapbooking.

Recipes Remember Class Pictures
I am so overwhelmed at the response of the interest in this class, not only
the ones attending the class but the class kits that were purchased by others
not attending class. I want to thank everyone for your continued support,
so much enthusiasm and joy was felt by all. I loved teaching this class as much
as the class attendees enjoyed making the project.
We also had a couple of first timers to attend the class, Kim and Irene.
I will be leaving on the 30th of April to visit my daughter and her family in Virginia
for a few days. I hope to come back with some fresh, new ideas for upcoming
classes. I will keep you posted as to when the next scheduled class will be. I am not
sure if there is to be a class in May, depending on supplies and resources when I
return from my trip, the time element will be the deciding factor for May, however,
I do plan to hold a class in June after school this year's session has ended.

Springtime 6x6 Album Class
Once, again ladies you did a beautiful job on your albums as you can see
from the photos. Everyone seemed to have such a wonderful time and the food
that you all prepared for our luncheon was so delicious. This was the first class held
in Penny's newly organized scrap room a very relaxed classroom setting. It was a joy to
be able to teach with all the extra space. Thank you again Penny from the bottom of
our hearts. I also wanted to welcome the new comers to the class Carolyn & Cathy.
Everyone seemed so excited they can hardly wait to attend the next class.
I am proud to announce the next class is already filled.
The "Recipes Remembered" Class will be held Saturday, April 12th starting promptly at 9:00 am.
Ladies, we have our work cut out for us for this class, however, it will also be a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing all of you there.

Sneak Peek "Recipes Remembered" Album April's Class
Here it is a sneak peak of the upcoming class for April. I have been wanting
to do a recipe album for quite sometime, I had this project on the back burner
for almost six months gathering special elements, searching the intranet
for unique stamps and now it has arrived. The style for this album is of a
Nostalgic nature, lots of collage and stamping techniques using blacks, reds,
creams, and mustard colored papers. The album size is 6"x8". This class will be limited to 12 participants as supplies are limited.
The Deadline for sign ups is March 29th, 2008. The class fee will be
$45.00.

Good News/Bad News
I have something to share with you about Stampin' Up....some good, some not so good. I will start with the bad news first. As we all know that gas prices have gone up drastically, which means UPS shipping rates have gone up too. Now it is seems to be effecting everyone.
Bad News: As of April 1st, Stampin' Up is going to raise their shipping rates from $3.95 or 10% of your order (which one is greater) to $6.95 or 10% of your order (which one is greater) So what that means, is you almost have to order a $69.50 order to make the shipping worth your while so you only pay 10% of your merchandise order total for the shipping, if not you will be spending $6.95 shipping on an order smaller than $69.50.
Good News: Starting sometime in April , you can use your debit card or your credit card to purchase Stampin' Up merchandise through your demonstrator. They are finally going to accept credit card payments!! I will alert you when
I know the exact date this will take effect.

As you've heard by now, we're raising our shipping prices. This is a move we've postponed as long as we possibly could, but with rising prices affecting almost every aspect of doing business in today's world, we finally had to.
We considered several different options, and after gathering input from many sources, including the Advisory Board, we choose a strategy that was very simple and straightforward--we simply upped our minimum shipping price to $6.95. Other options included tiered levels of increases based on the size of the orders, and frankly, most people we talked to felt those options were difficult to understand and complicated to implement. Since the end result was the same for all options, we went with what everyone felt was the most simple approach.
Keep in mind that this increase won't affect your workshop orders; nothing will change for your workshop customers! We feel strongly that workshops are the heart of our business, where relationships are made and strengthened, and where you reinforce your value as an expert your customers can rely on as they express their creativity. The increase will affect orders placed outside the workshop environment, including your own supply orders.
We know this news isn't welcome--and we wish we didn't have to do it. But we also know that you understand the costs associated with doing business. We thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your support.

Vintage Springtime 6x6 Album
This post confirms the date of March 29th for the Vintage Springtime 6x6
Vintage style Springtime Album. This class is filling up fast, and just as
a reminder the deadline date for sign up is March 1st. I will be announcing the
supply list information via separate email once registrations are complete.
Also, this class you will need to bring a covered dish to share. Remember,
this class also has a surprise bonus project included in the class fee.
The fee for this class is $45.00. (Make sure you indicate on your
registration form your color scheme choice for the "Surprise bonus Project"
ONLY on your completed application form.)
Feb 23rd Class-Old Letters and Keepsakes
Even though our class was small, we had a wonderful time sharing life's
stories with each other as well as creating a unique album to preserve
some of life's precious memories. This class was packed with lots of
distressing techniques and the enthusiasm that was displayed by all
It is what keeps me on my toes to come up with a fresh new project
each month. Although, I do have to say I made the comment to everyone
who was present, that I don't know how I can top this class, but I
will try. Even though it gets tiresome with these all day classes, I
am eager and willing to do it again next time. It is such fun to be
with people who share the same love of scrapbooking as I do.

New Heidi Swap Line
I am loving all Heidi's new line. Great Cool Stuff, we are in deep

Zutter Corner Rounder
OMG!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for someone to come out with
this heavy duty corner rounder that cuts through chipboard.
This is on my list of first JUST GOTTA HAVE IT! I am going to
the Scrapbook Expo in Orlando next month. I am hoping they will
have it there. My first major purchase will be for this hot new item.

New Cricket Software
Check out the latest development in the Cricut Software. It is unbelievable
what this new software enables you do create. This is a must have for
all you "Cricut" owners. I am not sure the price, but I think it retails
for $89.00. I did hear that someone bought it at Wal mart in Virginia,
so be sure to check with your local Wal mart Store to see if they carry this
new hot item.

Cropping With Friends
I had such a wonderful day cropping with a few of my friends yesterday. The day was filled with
sharing lots of ideas and laughter and OOOO! such delicious Food. Thank you June for hosting
this crop in your lovely home. I recently made an 8x8 "Coffee Album" and these snapshots were
taken so that I could add them to my newly completed album with photos of special friends who also
share the same love for Coffee as I do. Maybe we should call ourselves the "Coffee Club Croppers"
(the three C's) Just an idea. I was also privileged to meet someone new, her name is Sue, she is
such a delightful person. She had so many wonderful and funny stories to share. Sue also has a
special talent for making unique cards. (Sue had to leave early so I don't have a photo of her to share
for this post).
