Laces, Paper Bobbins Spools, Misc. projects

Lately, I have been obsessed with organizing my laces and specialty ribbons.  I have been searching the  Pintrest site and have  found a few ideas that I have incorporated in my endeavor to stay organized with my scrapbooking supplies.  I love all things vintage especially antique laces and shabby chic style projects.  I am always looking for ways to repurpose various items, such as boxes and jars, baskets, etc. to make them fit in with my style of  scrapbooking.   I have fallen in love with Marion Smith’s” Romance Novel Collection” of scrapbooking papers and embellishments. I try and buy a few items from this collections when I can get my hands on them because I know when it is gone there will be no more reprints.   Below are a few photos of  some of the projects I have been working on.

I covered cardboard magazine holders that I purchased at Staples,  they come (2) to a package for $2.99 and I covered with Romance Novel Collection Papers and trimmed with ecru Cluny lace and black ribbon trim,  I painted wooden balls for the feel and attached with screws.  I also used a Tim Holtz name plate on the front.  I used “mod-podge” to cover surface to protect the paper from tearing.  They are perfect for storing 8-1/2x11 cardstock.

I used Prima flower Tin and covered it with the same Romance Novel Collection Papers, I used the Prima Flowers for the top that go with the Collection, black and white polka dotted ribbon for the bow and placed a typewriter charm also from the collection that hangs from the lace trim. The lace trim is from Michaels “ Recollection”  brand of rolled self adhesive ribbon.
