Feeling Creative ToDay

Today is a good day to create, my hubby and son have gone out for the day, no one underfoot. Sometimes it is hard to get to my scrapbook room, when family is home.  They are always wanting me to do things, and then of course the household chores are always an interference with my creative plans for any given day.  So this perfect opportunity has arisen and I am taking advantage of the time I have alone. I have so many ideas and projects that haven’t as yet quite come together.  Since I have my sewing machine out due to some recent mending, I thought I would incorporate a little sewing on my layout.   I stitched around the title piece, then I attached some lace behind the photo with machine stitching.  This was cool. Often times, when I have lots of dimensional layers it is hard to find just the right adhesive to use to attach the layers so I thought why not machine stitch them together.  I really love the way it turned out.  I think I went a little crazy with the paint around the edges, however, in person it does looks better I think.  My camera is an older point and shoot so I don’t have a lot of settings to enhance my photos  I also show another layout that I completed at a recent crop I attended. I placed it in an acrylic frame.

I also have a Valentine’s Day project to work on. Will I ever catch UP?????? Probably Not!!!!

By the way, you know we all have our hoarded stashes, but I am anxiously awaiting some of the recent CHA show releases.  My daughter and I spent a great deal of time on the telephone and computer drooling and placing items in our wish list carts on different shopping sites that we frequently order from. It is so difficult to choose, as our budgets are limited.  I know in time I will get most of what I really have anticipated since viewing the sneak peaks.  However, the sad thing is that the next CHA show will probably be ready to view by the time I complete my purchases on my wish list.  This being said,  I find it difficult to stay up with the “latest/greatest” products out there on the market. I have a passion for the new Prima line especially the Almanac collection.  I also love the new My Mind’s Eye and Teresa Collins Fabrications Line, not to mention the Pink Paislee Collections. I could go on and on.  These are at the top of my list.  As far as new tools on my list, Tim Holtz new die cuts and stamps, these are a must have. I am also loving the new punch-bobble tool. I am not sure the name or the manufacturer, but it will encapsulate small photos, stamped items, that you punch out and enclose with clear bobbles, also has different backing mounted metal/plastic ornaments to make your own charms. It think it is by Epifhany Crafts, but not for certain.  Also, for a more expensive item I love the new E-Craft machine for die cutting.  But that is a larger ticket item and my budget will not allow such a purchase at this time.  Perhaps later in the year.
