Lately, I have been obsessed with organizing my laces and specialty ribbons. I have been searching the Pintrest site and have found a few ideas that I have incorporated in my endeavor to stay organized with my scrapbooking supplies. I love all things vintage especially antique laces and shabby chic style projects. I am always looking for ways to repurpose various items, such as boxes and jars, baskets, etc. to make them fit in with my style of scrapbooking. I have fallen in love with Marion Smith’s” Romance Novel Collection” of scrapbooking papers and embellishments. I try and buy a few items from this collections when I can get my hands on them because I know when it is gone there will be no more reprints. Below are a few photos of some of the projects I have been working on.
Repurposed lace spool. I covered the top of the spools with the Romance Novel Collection Papers and on the top is a handmade lace flower that I made sometime ago.
I covered cardboard magazine holders that I purchased at Staples, they come (2) to a package for $2.99 and I covered with Romance Novel Collection Papers and trimmed with ecru Cluny lace and black ribbon trim, I painted wooden balls for the feel and attached with screws. I also used a Tim Holtz name plate on the front. I used “mod-podge” to cover surface to protect the paper from tearing. They are perfect for storing 8-1/2x11 cardstock.
I used Prima flower Tin and covered it with the same Romance Novel Collection Papers, I used the Prima Flowers for the top that go with the Collection, black and white polka dotted ribbon for the bow and placed a typewriter charm also from the collection that hangs from the lace trim. The lace trim is from Michaels “ Recollection” brand of rolled self adhesive ribbon.
This is a basket filled with miscellaneous ribbon cards of various sizes that I created using my Silhouette, Cricket machine and I also fussy cut from free pintables that I copied from the Pintrest site. I am having lots of fun doing this. I also ordered a kit that come with a special Nestabilities die that you can only get through the designer it is a ribbon and lace spool set plus a coordinating stamp set and card kit. I am anxious to receive it visit.http://pinterest.com/justritestamper/ this is the site that I placed the order Look under October 2012 kit.
Atlas Jar filled with shredded paper and charms and lace and ribbon cards, vintage buttons, vintage jewelry, prima flowers, hug snug seam binding ribbon, ribbon tied on front of jar is a key charm with wings painted with ivory craft paint. I placed a Tim Holtz knob on top of jar lid for ease of opening jar lid and to make it more interesting.
Lace Bobbin Cards filled with some of my vintage laces still have many more to roll on more cards .
This is what the card looks like.
Wire basket displaying some of my “Hug Snug” seam binding ribbons that I purchased from Fabric.com love that site if you order the minimum quantity shipping is free. Also the price is a little bit less expensive than other sites.
