Just when we thought it would never happen, it did! Thank you Barbara for stepping out into your new venture of opening a much needed Scrapbook Store in our town (neighborhood). With the economy the way it is nowadays, I know it must have been a gamble to even put yourself out on a limb, however, we are ever so grateful you took the challenge. I not only speak for myself but the chatter around town is that it is a warm, welcome place to come and scrapbook, socialize and just hang out. With some of us underfoot it is no wonder you get any work done! Of course, I am talking about my self. The store has "huge" possibilities in such a small space, you have filled it will all our favorite things. You have certainly made a big impression in the world of scrapbookers for our local area and I know in time you will grow and probably outgrow your space, we will follow you wherever you go!! We all look forward to many exciting events you have planned for us. Attached is a photo of the latest Layout I created for the store using one of the new lines from Basic Grey and Chipboard elements to match, also Teresa Collins stamp. I look forward to creating many more samples in the future to display and hopefully inspire others to exercise their creativity as well.

Feeling a Little Pink
Yesterday, my friend June and I spent the day making "pink" vintage tags. I had been wanting to make some pink vintage style items to display in a wire basket I recently found at a local thrift store. We had a wonderful time together, creating these tags, using vintage stamps and inks, bits of ribbons, buttons, torn pages from an old "french dialog" textbook. It seemed as though the day ended too quickly as we rarely have time to get together with her busy schedule, however, I treasure the special time we had together making fun things that we both enjoy. She and I share the same interests in vintage style memorabilia, and incorporating them in our love for scrapbooking. Her home is filled with lots of unique vintage collectibles making it a special place to come to create projects to display and share our ideas. The food she served for breakfast and lunch was so delicious, the day could not have been more perfect. I think we both needed this special time to let our creative juices flow.

Sunday Afternoon Creativity
My husband and son decided to take the girls out fishing on the boat today and I was feeling a little creative , but not really wanting to work on any layouts, so I just pulled out a few stamps, papers, and embellishments no rhyme or reason to the design, just began covering and layering with papers and came up with this fun file folder project. One of pictures (the one with my daughter, Tina and the girls) is one she created in her digital program and I just printed it out and used it on my project. You may, from time to time, see the same pictures on my blog and hers. I can't, however, take all the credit. I have to give credit where credit is due.Tina I love your latest design you showed us on your blog post. It is the cutest book. I love all the Ali Edward's fonts we should all be so lucky to have that beautiful handwriting.
Once I covered the folder, I made a pocket on the front and placed a name tag that I had created at one of my crops in the pocket. Need I say, I love tags, that have been stamped and collaged with verses or phrases stamped on them. There is also a hidden pocket on the side, you can barely see it on the left with a tag pulled out slightly.
Blog site of interest
On the above site there are a lot of links to tap into to explore some of the new lines from different vendors that just recently released their new products at the 2009-Winter CHA show. There are so many wonderful new papers, stamps, and embellishments to really keep up your enthusiasm to scrapbook all our stashes of photos that we all have. I am so excited to share these sites with you. Of course, there are many more sites out there for your browsing, however, thought I would pass along just a few that will spark your hunger to visit more sites.
Have fun,
Happy Scrapping

New Cookware
I finally broke down and bought some new cookware. I had been looking around for a good deal for sometime now. I gave up looking for a while, but when I got up to cook breakfast Saturday, I took a good look at my old set and everything was sticking when I would try and cook anything I became so aggravated that I decided it was time, "deal or no deal". My husband came home Friday night and said that they were having a lot of sales at our local Mall, a good many of the stores are closing, due to the economy so I thought well maybe now is the time to cash in on some of the great sales, and low and behold JC Penney's was having a great sale on all their kitchen ware and miscellaneous small appliance so we purchased this set. I love it, just had to try it out when I got home. Lately, I have been re-organizing, closets, scrapbook area and now with the new set of cookware I was forced to clean out kitchen cabinets. The good news is that now I have more time for "scrapbook projects, with a few of well needed household chores completed.

More Re-Organizing
With the New Year underway, what a better time to keep organized. I added a few more stacking cubes to my scrapbook room. I love the new look, however, space is a real problem for me so I had to keep it simple. Also, if you click on the link to my daughter: Tina's blog you will see what a beautiful job she did reorganizing her scrapbook space. She and I had lots of fun re-doing our scrapbooking areas together, by phone and video web cam so it was good to see the progress we both made in our ventures to tidy up our workspaces so we can begin the New Year with lots of fun filled projects.

Happy New Year!
Well 2009 has finally arrived. We got back from visiting our daughter and her family in Virginia for the holidays. A lot of the time was spent shopping with the grandchildren to spend their Christmas money. Kaitlynn will be sweet "16" on the 16th of January so most of her shopping was for clothes. Madison spent hers mostly on her Christmas wish list items that Santa didn't have room to pack in his sleigh. We really had a great time just spending time with family. Robby's girls, Amber, Megan and Tiffany went to New York with their mother for their holiday trip. It was their first time seeing snow. They made snowballs, sledding, and snowmen. I am anxiously awaiting pictures from them to post on the blog. I know they had a really fun time, they were also able to visit other special places around the area, like the Statue of Liberty, their first ride on the subway, and their first ride in a taxi cab, and rode on the Stanton Island Ferry. Truly, this was a trip to remember. We left Virginia on New Year's Eve and stopped in Georgia for a visit with my aunt Margie we arrived in time to see the ball drop and ring in the New Year with her. It has been 4 years since we were there last. On New Year's Day we ate our traditional New Year's meal, black eyed peas among other dishes, we later visited my brother Dennie and his family in Wrightsville, Georgia. I was able to visit with my Uncle Billy on Friday, he has been ill for quite sometime. Due to his failing health issues, I am so glad that I was able to make it by to see him this visit. Later that afternoon, my cousin Brenda took me and my Aunt Margie to Warner Robbins to shop at the "HUGE" HOBBY LOBBY store, I was overwhelmed it was so much fun, of course I overspent money and time there. This is the first time I had been to a Hobby Lobby store, several of my friends have had the opportunity to visit the chain store, but I had not until this holiday while visiting family in Georgia. I was able to get a few things that I would normally have to acquire online, so this was a plus for me as we no longer have a local scrapbook store in our immediate area. These are a few pictures I took on my visit.
The pictures "above" were taken a few days before Christmas here in Florida before Amber, Megan and Tiffany went to New York, they exchanged gifts with their dad.
I feel blessed to have been able to spend time with family this holiday season, and I thank God that he traveled with us and brought us home safely. I look forward to scrapbooking these treasured memories. This completes photos taken in 2008 and I know 2009 pictures will be just as eventful.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY- DEC. 7, 2008
Tina, I want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY today. I know you have been going through quite a rough time these past few weeks with the weakening and now the passing of Gladys ( your mother-in-law) , but I want you to know that I love you and hope you have a special birthday even though it is a little sad for you today. May God give you and your family peace and comfort in your hearts during this time. I can't wait to be there in a couple weeks to share the holidays with you, Marty and the girls, and also celebrate your belated birthday. Love MOM!
Christmas Class-Party 2008
Our Christmas Class-Party was a wonderful way to wind up the year that was filled with lots of laughter, fun and creativity. The year has been packed with a wealth of sharing with friends my love of scrapbooking. Every class participant seemed to love the times we spent together, and the many projects they have completed. I look forward to more of the same in 2009. The Christmas Album project completed our classes for this year, now I look forward to visiting my daughter and her family during the Christmas and New Year's holiday. I am sure I will come back with many new photographs to feed my desire to create more projects to share with you all. Dwayne and her husband are retiring this month and moving to their new home in the mountains of Georgia, I am a little jealous, but I wish them lots of happiness as they start a new phase in their life's journey. She will be missed by all, but the good news is that" she will keep in touch by email and she plans to continue to receive future class kits. I want to say again, a "Big Thanks" to all of you who helped support me throughout the past year by attending my classes. May God richly bless and keep you this Holiday Season.
